ITRE - Business Continuity
Guaranteeing business continuity under disaster conditions is the result of an adequate implementation of a Disaster Recovery Plan. Drafting and managing a robust Disaster Recovery Plan is not a one-time task. The organization must have the capability to continuously identify its valuable assets, as well as possible threats, vulnerabilities, and risks. It must also be able to estimate the possible impact of each of these in its business processes, and then forecast the best recovery strategy to address each possible event. Moreover, the organization must have the capacity to test, train, and audit for each of the strategies proposed in order to verify whether they actually fulfill their stated goal: insuring that core business functions can remain operational in the face of a contingency.
